Dr. Michael A. Rosenberg is the Vice-Chairman of Ophthalmology at Northwestern Medical Faculty Foundation. He also is the Chief of Refractive Surgery Services at Northwestern University Medical School. Dr. Rosenberg has been performing refractive surgeries since 1990. He has been certified by VISX as a refractive surgical instructor for other physicians. Additionally, he is an Associate Examiner for the American Academy of Ophthalmology, giving the oral exams for other physicians to become board certified. Dr. Rosenberg has been cited by such publications as Chicago Magazine, Best Doctors in America, Top Doctors in Chicago, and America’s Top Rated Physicians. In January 2004 and 2006, Chicago Magazine named Dr. Rosenberg as one of only eight Top Doctors in Chicago in the field of Ophthalmology.

Dr. Paul J. Bryar is a board Certified Ophthalmologist and a faculty physician at Northwestern Medical Faculty Foundation. He is one of the founding members of Northwestern Vision Correction Associates, founded in October, 1999. Dr. Bryar is actively involved in corneal and refractive surgery research. His is currently studying corneal nerve growth factor and assessing its effects on the healing of LASIK patients. He has been published in many journals, including Cornea, Archives of Ophthalmology, and American Journal of Ophthalmology. He has also made numerous presentations of his work at national ophthalmology meetings. He believes in using the latest technology to provide state-of-the-art care to his patients. A recent consortium of Chicago area universities named Dr. Bryar the Attending Physician of the Year in Chicago Ophthalmology Curriculum.

Robert S. Feder, MD

Dr. Robert S. Feder is the chief of Corneal and External Disease Services at Northwestern University Medical School. Dr. Feder has performed refractive surgery since 1991 and is one of seven LASIK surgeons nationwide selected by the American Academy of Ophthalmology to co-author a book on refractive surgery. Additionally, Dr. Feder has written extensively for professional journals and books. He lectures frequently on corneal diseases and serves on national committees related to refractive surgery. He can provide specialized care to refractive patients based on his experience as a corneal specialist and teacher. America’s Top Doctors, Best Doctors in America, and Chicago Magazine have all recognized Dr. Feder as an outstanding physician. In January 2004 and 2006, Chicago Magazine named Dr. Feder as one of only eight Top Doctors in Chicago in the field of Ophthalmology.

Dr. Surendra Basti is a fellowship-trained specialist in Refractive, Corneal and Cataract Surgery and is Associate Professor of Ophthalmology at Northwestern University Medical School.

Dr. Surendra Basti graduated from medical school in Mangalore, India in 1988 and practiced for five years on the faculty of the L V Prasad Eye Institute in Hyderabad, India as a fellowship-trained cornea and refractive surgeon. In 1998, he migrated to the United States and completed internship training followed by ophthalmology residency at the department of ophthalmology, Northwestern University where he graduated in July 2003. He thereafter completed a one-year fellowship in Refractive, Corneal and Cataract surgery at the Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas. Dr. Basti is currently Associate Professor in the department of ophthalmology at Northwestern University.

Dr. Basti has performed laser refractive surgery since 1996. He has authored 55 publications in peer-reviewed ophthalmology journals. He has researched extensively and treated patients with recent state-of-the-art refractive technology such as the Wavefront-guided custom laser and Intralase Femtosecond laser during his year of fellowship. His research paper evaluating outcomes of customized surface laser treatment with the wavefront-guided VISX laser was awarded the ‘Best Paper of the Session’ award at the annual meeting of the American Society of Cataract & Refractive Surgery, San Diego, May 2004. Dr. Basti’s academic profile is cited in Marquis Who’s Who in Medicine and Healthcare(Reed Elsevier Inc., New Providence, New Jersey), a publication that lists prominent & accomplished medical professionals.
